XF 1.5 Using S3 for image proxy cache

I have done searching all over but haven't found anyone having success with this, or even asking this question directly.

Is there any way, through configuration of XF or the server, to store and serve the cached images on the image proxy on a different server, e.g. an S3 bucket or something else entirely? The feature has just completely ravaged our storage.

Unfortunately the image cache is in the internal_data directory, so it wouldn't be covered by that add-on.

That said, @xfrocks has another add-on that does the same thing for the attachment store. I wonder if he might consider working on a similar cure for the image cache...

It's not S3 but I use KeyCDN as image proxy cache by using this add-on https://xenforo.com/community/resources/imageproxy-host.5030/
