XF 1.5 User upgrades change

We want to decrease the cost of our user upgrade options.

I'm not entirely sure how to go about transferring current subscribers over or just closing off their current one without messing it up on PayPal or our side.

A big concern is the members who are currently signed up, losing their upgrade when it still has time left.

Would,
Removing the PayPal subscription
Disabling the current upgrades
Work correctly?

If not what's my best option? Thanks!

Make the current upgrade non purchasable, to avoid new purchases being made.

Create a new upgrade and manually upgrade the existing purchasers.

Delete the now unused upgrade.

Is this a recurring subscription? If so, deleting is not really a good idea. PayPal doesn't allow changing recurring subscriptions very much, so the only option there would involve manual resubscriptions so they get the new price.

If it's not recurring, you can just change the price and it won't affect users that bought it already.
