XF 1.4 User group question

I wish to make a user group and provide a banner for donators to my site.

Is this correct?

- Make new user group with banner styling
- Move user to secondary group

I feel as though I may be missing a step.

Please advise.

Sounds about right. If you don't have banner stacking enabled, make sure you have the Display Styling Priority set higher than the other user groups that users will be in, otherwise it won't show up.

If your donations are via User Upgrades in the ACP (which is how I do it) then donators will be added to the secondary user group on purchase of the upgrade (donation).
