URL Question

I was wondering if there is a way to modify this URL:

http://xenforo.com/community/forums/xenforo-discussions-questions.5/

and modify it so it looks like this:

http://xenforo.com/community/forum/5-xenforo-discussions-questions/

Is this possible? Also I'd like to replace the '.' in URL's with a '/'.

I didn't looked at the code for more than 10 minutes, and i didn't understood really a lot.
I was wondering:
1) can we set up pages without the "./pages/" prefix?
2) where is the file that worries about loading the right classes? I would love to se something like the Routes.php file in the codeigniter framework. Do it exist here?
