XF 1.5 Upgrading on behalf of a client

A client has asked me to upgrade his xenforo, and sent me details of his customer login.

I'm not sure this is OK, am I allowed to do this? Or do I have to get him to download the files and then send the to me (which would not be so easy due to him currently only having a mobile dodgy wifi connection?

We would always advise against people sharing their customer account credentials with anyone, but if it has already happened and it's something he is comfortable with doing, then we won't stop that.

In terms of general best practice, the log in details should be changed as soon as the third party has finished with them etc.

It hadn't happened as I wanted to ask first. I would also prefer not to do it that way however there seems no alternative as he really wants me to do this.

However it may be a moot point as I just tried and got a password error, even though I know (double checked with him) it's the correct password.
