XF 1.1 Upgrade XF 1.1 to a fresh installation of XF 1.3

Hello,

I tried to upgrade my XF1.1 to XF1.3 and faced a lot of problems due to outdated, conflicting templates & addons. So a fresh start is on the cards.

Is it possible to create a new instance of XF1.3 and then import all my forum data (users + threads + attachments etcs) from from XF1.1 onto it. I will then re-customize the XF1.3 from scratch and thus trimming a lot of un-necessary things.

Is it practical to do it this way ? What are the pitfalls ?

There's no reason why you can't complete the upgrade.
All you need to do is deal with the outdated templates and phrases and update any incompatible add-ons.
