Restarted the procedure from scratch and it works now...

Is extra.less template should be considered as outdated ?

The version was accidentally bumped in one of the pre-releases, and reverted for the stable release. So in order to prevent it appearing as outdated for those upgrading from 2.2, it may appear as outdated for those upgrading from a pre-release.
