Update cadence changes

At present Xenforo releases a new major , or minor version with a multitude of features in an almost single hit.

For example when V2.0 was released we had emoji support ,retina support, widgets, alerts in favicons plus lots more
2.3 was released and we had a new raft of updates such as image optimisation, performance boosts and more.

Is there some merit to releasing more frequent less feature changed versions that steadily release feature sets as and when ready?

For example :

V3 : Release AI integration
V3.1 Release Skynet update
V3.2 Release End of World scenario

Instead of trying to bulk all the updates together then release then in a more steady stream.

I have another forum that uses discourse. Whilst discourse is not perfect the steady stream of updates and fixes means I am not hanging on for a new version. Its a gentle drip of new features and fixes.

They also warn when features are going to be deprecated so there are no shocks.
