XF 2.2 Trying to add my own assets

So I am trying to add my own images and what not in the root directory of the forums like this

site.tld/assets/image.jpg but I get 404 not found

You might need to clarify what you're doing specifically, but if you want a file in that specific location, you'd have to upload it manually.

If you're talking about uploading an asset file via the control panel (logo, etc), XF will upload those to a specific location and give you the URL to it.
