I don't use TMS... so I have to install a 3rd party software to uninstall a core feature?

You don't need TMS for those instructions. Just remove the code that is specified.

There is no global on/off switch, you'll need to edit templates.

Is there a way just to hide it in the user thing where the avatar is?
