XF 2.3 Transcoding

I'm posting another similar question to my unanswered one.

Are videos that are posted to to threads in forums supposed to be transcoded? If no, why not? I'm having issues with users posting videos inetrmixed with images in the forums. As soon as there are 4ish videos the thread slows to a crawl on load.

No.

If no, why not?
Videos that are posted as attachments are not content on their own, they are just ... attachments.

Transcoding us asynchronous and takes a little bit of time.

This is not a problem for standalone content (eg. Video Media Items in Media Gallery) as publishing can (and is) delayed until transcoding has finished.

But it is a problem for videos that are attachments to other content:
It would be either necessary to reject posting the content until transcoding has finished (= bad user experience), publish the untranscoded version first and replace it later (=bad / confusing user experience as well and might cause complaints) or delay publishing the content until transcoding has finished (=bad user experience due to content getting "lost" / overlooked if using original timestamp or confusing content ordering if using current timestamp).

Agreed.

How do I stop a user from uploading more than 1 video per post while 100 images is okay?
