I have configured several personalized discussion fields, it works correctly except that the fields set as not required simply do not appear when you create a discussion with the quick tool, it is quite disturbing knowing that users use it quite often bit the complete discussion creation tool.
I imagine that this bug is likely to be given the prefix "as designed" but in practice it is not because a custom field is not required that it should disappear when creating a discussion with the quick tool which I assume is at least 80% of the way used to create a discussion.
An unrequired custom field does not necessarily mean that it is not important, just sometimes the information can be difficult to fill out. The problem is that when the user has this information he does not even know that he can enter it in a dedicated field.
