Lack of interest Those Who Opt Out From A Coversation Still Show Up In Participants

Once someone is added in a conversation and opt out from it. The person is still shown in the conversation participants. It will be nice to show only active participants in the list. It causes confusion for active participants about who is listening to their voice?

That's by design.

It's for situations where someone is being spammed or harassed and wants to silently leave the conversation.
If they were shown as having left, the person harassing them would just start another conversation.

Thanks Brogan, this makes sense. But, it is causing the potential problem I have described above. It is kind of a trade off.

Having said that, I would suggest the same feature in a different way then. How about giving user a choice to mute the conversation or to leave it permanently (and letting other participants know).
