XF 2.0 The ability to create a forum/node which is displayed publicly by only accessible to certain groups

When creating a private node, it disappears from the view of everyone but those who can access it. Is there any way to create a forum which is publicly displayed to all users in the node list, but when users without authorisation click on it something like a hover popup is displayed with a message about the purpose of the node? I feel like I'm grasping here a bit, and that this kind of functionality is not available (ie. just public or private nodes by default)

General Permissions:
View node: Set to Yes.

Forum Permissions:
View threads by others: Set to No

Thanks Ozzy, I tried it but the node still opened up when a guest clicked, and when someone not attached to the node clicked. Is that setting for "Administrative", "Registered" etc?

It should open and only display, "There are no threads in this forum."

Is there any way to prevent it from opening all together if you're not a permissioned member?

Not without custom coding.
