[TH] Social Groups [Deleted]

When creating or editing a social forum, the creator may create a description which shows in a box above the thread listing and also shows in the social forum listing below the name of each social forum. The editor for this description is the normal fully featured editor, allowing for the use of BBcode and the display of images when the description is viewed in the social forum above its thread listing. However, the BBcode is not processed when it appears below the name of the social forum in the social forum listing.

Here are pictures to show what I mean.

Is this intentional? Are there options pertinent to this that I am missing?

By the way, thank you so much for releasing the Social Groups add-on. I had mentioned before how adopting Xenforo was something I would consider only if Social Groups did what I needed it to do. Well, my site finally went live, and Social Groups is working perfectly for us. Very excellent. Thanks.

@Waindigo
Is there a way to feature/sticky groups? This could be a great way to advertise key groups or have paid services.

I know we can sticky/feature individual group threads but what if I want to feature an entire group?

On my test 1.3 forum all the listeners, marked with "(For XenForo 1.1 and below)" are disabled after installation. And among "1.2 and above" ones there is no listener with a hint ("XenForo_Model_Alert"). I caught this because my client told me she has errors when posting on forum. The error in the log said
Code:
ErrorException: Fatal Error: Call to undefined method XenForo_Model_Alert::setSocialForumAlertOverride() - library/Waindigo/SocialGroups/Extend/XenForo/Model/ThreadWatch.php:81
Looks like some files were missing when you tried to upgrade, re-upload them and upgrade the add-on again.

Also, http://xenforo.com/community/resources/tmdb-tv-thread-starter.3334/ causes the same error.

Has there been a work around for this? Either on this end, or with @Snog ?
Not that I am aware of.

Alright... who would this fall on to find a correction? I'm not certain what the code issues are, or anything like that.

It is a big issue for what we have going, so hopefully you and @Snog could possibly work together and find a quick fix...

Appreciate it guys.

A small issue....

No matter what is done, I cannot get it to default display this:

For whatever reason, it seems to always revert back to the Title, even when viewing as a guest. (The first one is stickied)

Am I missing a permission somewhere, or something I have overlooked?

Jon, another quick Q...

Where do I need to go to edit to allow the description to be shown instead of tooltip? A certain template to edit? I've looked, but cannot figure this one out.

I'd rather have it turned "on", allowing me to style it as I'd like.

When using default Xenforo templates and style, the description does show instead of a tooltip. (See my post #921 above.) Do you have a special style which places descriptions in a tool-tip?

Hmm, that's perplexing. The descriptions 100% show up below them in the listing for me, with no tooltips. How odd.

@Sheldon, I can confirm that it always sorts by Title ascending on my installation as well, even when I select a different option.
Hm, this happens to me as well. I can manually sort it the way I want in the social category using the display options, but the default seems to be stuck at "title" despite changing the option in the admin panel.

Do you have a touch screen?
A touchscreen laptop, yes. Does it automatically display descriptions instead of tool-tips when it detects a touchscreen? If so, that may be a little counterproductive for touchscreen laptops. It's not an issue for me, though. I wrote a template modification to hide them anyway, because of the lack of BBcode support as I mentioned in my earlier post.

I know this is a rather easy answer but hitting my head against the wall in trying to find the correct templates in order to change the phrasing for the sidebar "Moderators" and "Members", was able to stumble my way into changing it in the member listing.

Looking at social_forum_list_socialgroups but not sure if this is correct.

Just edit the respective phrases.

For just the sidebar inside the social areas...

Thank you, have been going through these templates in trying to find this and my understanding is that you edit the phrases you would still need to edit the template in order to refelect the change.

No, that's incorrect.

You edit a certain phrase, it will show whatever you edited it to, everywhere.

*double facepalm*

Here I was going around doing the phrases and the templates, feel like an idiot in basiclly doing double the work. Thanks again and now can go about things much quicker.
