Texas Hold'em Poker [Deleted]

Hi,

This is not compatible for Share Host Xenforo, isn't it?

You need root access so that you can install any software you want. I believe shared hosting does not give you root access. Thus, it will not be possible to install the game.
You definitely need vps/dedicated server.

Anyone got this up and running? Id love to see a demo

You can sign up a test account on demo site at Holdemfever.net and test it out. The next version will have an additional type of game, a variant of five card stud (Telesina) along with other graphics
improvements added recently by Cubeia.

I recall seeing a similar game play without community cards / flop / river played by asian people which had intense betting rounds for calls to see the hidden card.

Hello,

True, it's not easy but it's not hard too. As I said, it takes some basic Linux knowledge. Sorry, I did not have time to write a french version though.

The alternative solution is communicate in French with me through private email or through other means if my time permits since I'm working for the next version. PM me your private email. We can start from there !

Btw, the resource file can be localized in French too, so you will need to manually edit it and translate yourself.

Really intrigues me but this sort of thing is over my head plus I'm not sure our two servers can handle it - they already handle around 60 million pageviews annually so I'm wondering if something like this will put significant additional load on them? Any thoughts on that? Also, have you thought about offering a paid installation service?

Thanks,
Ray

To those who want to play with real people , this is the site : http://quarterpoker.com
You can join through facebook account. The game play is exactly the same thing as the release of this version. Nice demo of using a different skin than the default too.

V2 release should be out by the end of this week as documentation is beeing updated.
Currently showing for IPB on a vps test site as opposed to the previous one on a local dev laptop but it works identical as with Xenforo through configuration as last release which tests have been performed.

A lot of bug fixes and new features added from Cubeia's team. Source code frozen at December 8th.
To cite a few:

Telesina game
New lobby layout/circular progress bar.

This is probably the stablest version which resembles best as shown in http://quarterpoker.com

LuckyRiver updated Texas Hold'em Poker with a new update entry:

Texas Hold'em 2.0 for Xenforo

As previously announced, I released the version 2 for IPB two weeks ago and now it's Xenforo's turn which contains updated Cubeia's poker code.

Main features are:
Telesina game.
Lobby layout redesign
Chips display.
And as always, updated client code to user IPB/Xenforo avatar in game session display and add custom logo as to demo skin support.

This version is almost exactly as the one shown in http://quarterpoker.com. View attachment 63829

The game does not use real money. It's virtual play money which you can configure yourself. I believe I saw some code commits from Cubeia of supporting bitcoins. Have to ask them to get the detail of this. Actually the virtual money can be any XXX code you configure. You can have your own money type if you like instead of USD/CAD/EUR but it really is play money.
I could call virtual money on my site as HFC as an example. To host real money for online poker game you are entering into new territory which requires licence.

Not sure if I understand your question but cash persistence is already implemented in the first release. The money you won will be there when you sign on again. But if you lost everything, you will need to go to the admin console and transfer more money. At initial startup, it's configured to give 20000 USD as play money to start but that value can be changed to any value you want player to have. The amount of money is bound to your Xenforo account since it's linked in the back office where all the money transactions are performed and summed up to show your total left when you join any tournament/table to buy in.

It is a betting game like poker should be. Play some hands on http://quarterpoker.com to get an idea of the game play.

Yes, you can win money from your members community if they are online and they are registered to sit&go tournament which has prize pool to the first 3 winners.

Cash games is different. You can sit and wait for someone to play with. On the demo site, I've launched batch of bots you can play with and try to win. But they are much smarter than the first version since Cubeia has tweaked AI.

There is a lot you can manually do is to have user get more cash when he/she donates to a site to support the game. Or simply add some API to support automatically other point system or simply allow cash give away from member to member. While the latter can be done but my free time is limited. I'm still working on leaderboard module which has not been up to my satisfaction yet so there is some more thinking to do it better in a useful way to interface with forum.

Hope I answer your question.

Preview of next version of V3 release as I've just add phpBB3 v3b4 authentication support which uses same blowfish encryption as used in Xenforo.
Will release once I get everything running stable enough.

Crazy Holdem, Omaha were added. Better bet slider and a year of bug fixes from Cubeia.

Download and support for Texas Holdem 3.0 are now handled at http://boardservice.org/community but feel free to ask questions here. The previous resource file is still valid. This new version has many code updates and boardservice module handles too many type of forum softwares which can not be handled at one place. And it is always free to install. Thanks for your interests!
