Test self-hosted before buying a license

It's probably been asked may times before, but I cannot find it - sorry. Is it possible to install selfhosted xenforo to see if I can get it to work before purchasing a license? (running php -m it looks like all the requirements are being met by the hosting provider but you never know)

You would need to purchase a license to be able to install it on a server/localhost.

There is the "requirements test script" available from https://xenforo.com/docs/dev/ that you can download and run on your server to ensure it meets all the requirements.

Is the license refundable if after importing my current VB 4.2.5 forum doesn't work out?

In general, we don't allow refunds after the software has been download.

There's no reason why the import wouldn't work though - we have thousands of former VB users on XF.
