What are the advantages over core profile posts?

For now really the only advantage I can see is that users, if allowed, can have multiple different blogs for their different blog niches. Whenever I get around to finishing the next x.X.x release there will be more features for content discoverability like similar blog posts to the one that is being read and more.
I haven't used a profile post in a very long time so they could also allow less characters than blog posts, but haven't checked into that personally.

That would be due to the blog description field having a hard limit of 255 characters. I'll probably have that changed in the future for it to be an option in the acp to set it to whatever an admin wants, but for now due to the addons default design on the front end and where the description currently appears it will stay the same for some time. Probably until after XenForo 3.0 when the new default style is released to cut down on the amount of styling changes that would need to take place.

hi - amazing addon you have here, but i've found an issue where even when the "Blog post comments" option is disabled, when a scheduled blog post goes live, it creates the comments thread regardless..

Yes (Edit: Not showing up on the main what's new page for some reason, pretty sure I had that added in but does have a tab, taking a look into why it's not on the main page)

Will have to make sure everything works with TipTap when it's released yeah, shouldn't be a lot of changes, just what XF changes with how it comes to the
<xf:editor> tag and how to ingest that data from it which I doubt will change that much.No demo as of now, will probably get a demo site setup sometime this month.

I do know you can make a forum into a tab. So if Blogs was a forum, you could leave it as a forum, or make it it's own tab.
The idea would be it would be alot like

I've have actually been pondering that ever since reading how @digitalpoint brought up making addons as nodes instead (https://xenforo.com/community/threa...ecessarily-a-forum.203832/page-3#post-1739493)

This would all be on a possible 2.0 re-write of the addon though (to fix my short comings that I made and any silly logic choices)

Interesting !
Xenforo suffers from Tab-itis. Community software shouldn't force boxing content into tabs. It's really passé.
Thank you. Also noticed that when editing an old blog post after publishing the edited message it is published as a new one.

As an entirely new blog post? If so is it keeping both of the posts, the original and the edited?
No, only one post remains saved, but its publication time changes and it becomes as if it was just published.
