TaigaChat - AJAX shoutbox

Well I did that and got this to show up on the FORUM page, but I can't get this to show up on the XENPORTA home page... I imported the addon and its just not showing up for anyone on the site.

You shouldn't have to, but enable 'Global hook' in taigachat settings

I've got the same problem with the smiley order on this as I have with Minorin.

Is there any way of getting them to order by id, rather than title?

The latest .zip is showing as 0.5.4 in the ACP, and my dark_taigachat_controls template is no longer showing as outdated (it was on my localhost).

I reverted it anyway and re-applied my edits and it's working fine, but you may want to check the .zip package for the correct files, etc.

Fixed (forgot to update the xml >.>)

No big deal as it was only php files that changed from 0.5.4 to 0.5.5

After update, i have this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function lcfirst() in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/forum/library/Dark/TaigaChat/EventListener/FrontControllerPreView.php on line 10

To me, there is probably a contradictory pair of arguments made by many people who dislike the shoutbox, which is that (1) it is a spam haven/encourages spam and (2) it takes away worthwhile discussions from the forum itself.

That in mind, I think it would be a neat (if unorthodox) feature to be able to select shouts to convert into posts in a topic in the forum of your choice (e.g., music, debate, etc) if you think that the discussion is getting interesting and may be better served in a topic, at least for the sake of preserving the conversation. I suppose you can copy-paste but that is time consuming, or you can just start a new topic that references the discussion, but having those shouts as the first posts in a new topic may help keep the momentum of the discussion. Maybe converting those shouts may even trigger an auto-shout saying something like "Shouts have been transferred to a new topic titled '[insert title here]'".

Heh. Strange, I know. Maybe even stupid. Also it would be useless at forums where most members tend to be spammy and very little actual worthwhile discussion takes place, but there are forums where people hold worthwhile discussions, and not just in the forum topics themselves, but in profile comments, shouts, etc. Lastly, I imagine such a feature that is not apparently necessary or particularly worthwhile would be worth the difficulty I anticipate in creating it.

That bizarre brainstorming aside, thank you for your add-on. I am glad to have a shoutbox again.

I really like that idea Hyperion, hopefully something like it is added. I've found myself wanted to start topics based on the shoutbox conversations and then direct people there, would be nice. Not sure of the best implementation, but I think it's overall, a pretty cool idea.

Hyperion, it is a good idea. One of the first things that I did at my forum was to set up a thread to catch classic shouts or convos in the SB and put them in that thread for the sake of posterity. Yes, sometimes the forum might lose out on interesting discussions due to having a Shoutbox but it's simply an incredibly popular add-on, all praise to DarkImmortal.
