TaigaChat - AJAX shoutbox

Status
Not open for further replies.
I did just test this myself and had my members confirmed. Every post deleted bugs the shoutbox. This does not effect the user deleting it.

I had a member also delete a message for me and it happened within seconds.

regarding the Taiga-chat:
is it possible for users to chat privately, like 2 people can chat privately in a room? Or is Taiga-chat just like a shoutbox so everone can read the posts?

I am looking for something similar to Facebook-chat. Is there any add-on available for XenForo?

Thanks!

Wondering how I move and rezise an addon recently added to my Forums, I still wish to keep the shoutbox beacause we used to have one on the old setup but indeed the forum is Really overpowering in its current location, the initial screenshot I was shown of this was much smaller (Vertical Rectangle) and I had the idea of putting it to the right of the forum topics list and under the Site Statistics box but Above the Google and Twitter boxes, if anyone could let me know how this could he achieved would be greatly appreciated.

If you could look at it for me, http://www.tbaec.com

I would post a screen shot myself but I am on a public terminal with no copy and paste ability, do they not trust anyone anymore...

I've merged your thread with the add-on thread.

See the first post for instructions on how to add it to the sidebar.

Eddie, I can also put it in the sidebar, which is probably what the first post screenshot is showing.
It has 2 options, forum_list > at the top/bottom of the node list, or on the sidebar.

Give me a poke on Skype, and I can change the location.

How do I edit the time for the chatbox? I really don't have a use for the date other than to take up space and would like the SB to just display the time.

Found this:
Code:
<xen:if is="{$taigachat.rawtime}">
<span class='DateTime muted'>{xen:datetime $message.date, 'absolute'} - </span>
<xen:else />
<span class='DateTime muted'><xen:datetime time="$message.date" /> - </span>
</xen:if>

O and this

I'm using TaigaChat on a separate page linked to via the menu. I would like this add-on to have an option that enables a sidebar on forumhome that shows the 5 last messages, so the members can quickly see if there are activity in there.

Hi D/I and all... Haven't checked in here in a while... D/I, did you ever get a chance to fix the bug that would delete complete chat transcripts rather than auto-posting them, when they became "too large"... I had to quit using T/C for my bi-weekly training chats (which can last up to 4 hours) because those valuable transcripts would just disappear without warning or buffer full message with option to post, or anything like that... just POOF!

So... hoping you have some good news for me because I'm very anxious to quit using the chatbox in my old vB (choke, gag) forum, where vbmtor's chatbox autoposts at a set time however much content is in the chat buffer, and works like a charm - trouble is, it's in a vB forum instead of XF, and vbmtor hasn't "seen the Light of XF".

I'll look into doing something about that for the next release which will be soon

I have no problems like this. My Chat often runs 12h nonstop with no problems.

Thanks I'd REALLY appreciate it! The autopost works great, EXCEPT for this gross deletion with no warning. Instead of a n0-warning auto-delete, how about a popup that warns with a good bit of advance notice:

"Chat Transcript buffer nearly full! Choose auto-post or delete" - with those two options displayed as buttons, ideally with an "are you sure?" secondary prompt for the deletion option.

Hopefully that won't take too much of your coding time, and our community could finally completely move from our vB forum to XF. :D

Yeah my chat runs fine too, BUT the auto-posting of transcript just auto-purges the whole buffer without warning when the transcript hits some kind of maximum size over which I have no specification control.

Are you saying that you run a chat for 12 hours and the system automatically posts the accumulated transcript to an admin-defined forum, without any data loss? If the answer is yes, I'd like to see it if you'd be willing to send me the link, as I'm curious as to why it's not a problem on your installation but is on mine.

Thanks!

hmm, no... sorry for misunderstanding

lol no prob. I thot that may be the case, and want to keep things clear for D/I so he'll feel motivated to fix this bug at last. ;)

I only have strong feelings about it because I think TaigaChat is otherwise VERY cool and we can hardly wait to use it for our formal training chats! :D
