TaigaChat - AJAX shoutbox

Hmmm, now the pop up doesn't work either with the latest version.

I'll do some more investigation when I get a chance.

Edit: I had to revert the chatbox template again and reapply the edit, even though it wasn't showing as outdated and the content was exactly the same. Most odd.

For reference, this was the edit:
Code:
<div class="<xen:if is="{$taigachat_sidebar}">secondaryContent<xen:else />primaryContent_chat</xen:if>">

I just have a new primaryContent_chat CSS class to remove the padding.

The flood/duplicate post check seems to have created another problem.

If you try to post too quickly now, even with different content, the indicator in the top right doesn't disappear and the post never appears.
Subsequent posts do but some are omitted.

Try posting the numbers 1 to 10 in quick succession to see what I mean.

BTW, I only have it on my localhost at the moment, not the live site.

UPDATE: If you browse away from the page and back again or do a manual refresh, all of the messages appear in sequence. So it's just not updating the page correctly when they are posted.

.

I can reproduce this but nothing else you've mentioned :/

The other problems are sorted.

For some reason I had to revert the chat template 3 times before it seemed to work

So other than the page updating correctly due to posts in quick succession, it's all working fine :)

Cool, also released a fix for that bug :)

(Only file changes, no xml/template update needed)

It's like a bus.

No updates for a while and then 3 come along all at one :D

It's still happening for me though with the latest build.

You sure? It's fine on my live site which is running the files from the zip package

Edit: Actually it could be related to server speed, will see if there's anything I can do to compensate

Unfortunately yes.

I've just copied the files to my localhost directory again just to double check, but the same problems are occurring.

Happening with FF 5 and Chrome 12.

Unfortunately yes.
Thanks very much for all of the beta testing Brogan! Saves us non-techies a LOT of headaches prematurely updating unthrashed software.
...and Thanks D/I for responding so quickly and working hard to get working right.

We'll wait for Brogan's green light b4 applying the update.

I've got an i7 920 2.66 O/C to 3.2 so I would have thought that would be able to cope :D

Personally speaking the double posting issue never bothered me, it hardly ever happened.

Nice one chap.

I'm rebuilding my PC from scratch so I'll install the latest version sometime tomorrow, once it's all up and running again.

Great work! Are you familiar with JSONRequest? Great for speed and security. Also another improvement request for the sb, the ability for the shoutbox to remember users BBCode chooses. Instead of tags it displays like the richtext editor.

Either way shoutbox has come a long way with todays updates. Should get a lot of members off my back. :)

dark_shoutbox
... and the path to locate this variable, please?

I am not a coder so I need to know like: ACP > Home > Add-ons > ?????? > ????? > etc.
Thanks!
Posting paths like this as a courtesy to those of us who are not coders but still need to admin our humble installations
would >really< appreciate this info included in responses as a matter of practice, so we don't have to clutter up the thread
with multiple requests for the same solution, pieced together a little at a time.

(sorry, grumpy... it's late in my day).

THANKS!
