Tagging options...

Been searching for over 30 minutes for a link to a demo of the gallery in use or more information than the basics shown in the guide . I need to see the abilities of tagging or pictures of the permission sets, so I can figure out if this will work for us. We really hope that when posting an image in a forum thread there is an option that the uploaded image be tagged to our pre-made categories even if it isn't being uploaded to a "gallery". Or, is Media Gallery a separate entity from the forum area?

Can anyone link me to more information? Thanks much!

Oh...wrong section I think, but does anyone know how to make the "online now" just the nice little corner notch like here? I had to turn off that crazy blinking one...but now we have nothing. Thanks

The media gallery is separate as far as that functionality is concerned.

Tagging can only be done from the actual media page.

Not knowing anything about coding, is it a possibility "upload a file" images could have an option to tag them with set Media Gallery tags? Or, is that too hard to do?

Media / Photo Galleries seem relatively old school to me.

Not really possible unless you are an uber coder.

Dang!!! Thanks so much, Digital Doctor! We've had a photography forum and found the exact same thing. Nobody wants to "double post" their images. Gallery was extremely underused. For our purposes, it needs to be tied somehow to daily happenings like thread posts. That would be a dream!!

#1) its fun to browse. #2) The images are great ... when you want to see a better view of the picture ... it asks for you to sign up (what a great way to get people to register).

Photopost was killed by Flickr et. al. Those days are over. Most Forums won't benefit from a Gallery. I dont know why people think they will be of use.

What you describe is a gallery that is integrated with the day to day discussion.
I think that is much more useful than a non-integrated gallery such as XFMG or Sonnb's gallery.

I'm sure for some uses it is good. We will watch closely & if it gets modified to be more interactive with the forum aspect will buy then. Thanks so much!
