XF 1.2 Tag notifications

Hello,

I haven't been able to find any information on whether tag notifications occur in real time or there is some sort of delay. Some of my members are wondering if it doesn't work sometimes as they can find posts where they are being tagged with no notifications.

They are instant but alerts won't appear until the page is refreshed or an ajax call is made.

Alerts are not sent for edited posts.

Also, this is how alerts are processed: Quoted > Tagged > Thread Watch > Forum Watch

Also, tags are converted but do not alert if they are above the amount permitted in the usergroup permissions. So if a group can only tag 5 people, the 6th+ tag in a post will not receive alerts.
