XF 2.3 Push Notifications Not Clearing on Android.

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping to get some help with an issue we're having with push notifications on our forum.
We have everything set up, and the push notifications are working perfectly, users are getting alerts on their phones.

The problem is that once they've viewed the notification on the forum, it doesn't clear from their phone's notification bar.

For example, if someone gets 20 notifications and clicks one to see a new blog post, they'll still have 19 notifications left on their phone. It's not syncing up properly.
It feels like it should work the same way as something like WhatsApp, where if you go into the app, the notifications disappear from your phone.

I've tested this on an Android phone using Brave, Chrome, and Opera, and the behavior is the same across all of them.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a known bug? Any guidance would be a huge help.

so yeah as per my understanding, browser notifications do not work like app notifications where developers/users have a lot of control. there is no syncing of notifications between different devices. your mobile browser won't know what threads you have read on desktop browser and vice versa. And notifications won't disappear if you read threads on the forum manually without clicking on notifs. Can Xenforo do anything about it? I doubt it. this is why i keep them enabled only on one of the device i access my community from.
