Loving this add on, thanks.

I don't suppose there a way, on tag view to sort threads via latest post, rather than by thread creation?

Also it would be pretty good to be able to upload images direct into tag description, currently only seem able to insert image by URL.

Thanks

Glad you like it, thank you.
At the moment, the only way to sort the threads is by creation date. The logic there is that it was the first post which the tags were created for, and therefore the most relevant content. It would be possible to add a sorting option. Would you be interested in funding the addition of that feature?
Ditto attachments for tag descriptions.

Yeah I can understand the logic/makes sense - for my particular setup though, sort by last reply would work best as the volume of new threads isnt there - so I figure last reply helps with SEO.

Would certainly be interested - estimate of cost via DM would be great. Not so fussed on tag image description as a workaround exists for that.

I've asked the coder.

Stuart Wright updated Tag Essentials - with AI auto tagging and XFRM support with a new update entry:

Filtering tool added to tag pages - very useful feature

  • Add filter options to tag view page. Note: currently only supports Threads for the more complex filter options such as prefixes and sorting by last update
  • Add "Default tag filter - content type" option (default: any, which matches XF defaults)
  • Add "Default tag sort" option (default: content date, which matches XF defaults)
Example: https://www.avforums.com/tags/samsung/
It's now possible to see a list of all threads tagged with samsung and...

2.8.3 was working 100% perfect, but now having problems on the "tag_view" page after the 2.9.0 upgrade.

The "tag_view" page does not show any new content that has been added since the 2.9.0 upgrade.

After upgrading to 2.9.0, the "tag_view" page only shows content that was tagged before on 2.8.3 and does not show anything after the upgrade.

Both of these problems are happening:
  • Adding a thread to a previously created tag on 2.8.3, but the thread does not show on the the "tag_view" page.
  • Adding a thread to a newly created tag on 2.9.0, but the thread does not show on the the "tag_view" page.
After both actions, the "tag_view" page only shows the same results as before the upgrade to 2.9.0

In the ACP, under Manage Tags, the counter for the tag is correct, meaning adding a thread to a content tag is showing both on the backend and on the front end of the thread. But it's just not showing up on the "tag_view" page.

Please advise.

And can there be an option to completely disable this new Filter system. I see a default filter tag option in Settings, but no option to change adjust it later for a tag?

The tag is being added but the 'updated date' sort option is being buggy, setting it to "created date" instead of "updated date" will make the item show as expected. A bugfix will be out hopefully today

Stuart Wright updated Tag Essentials - with AI auto tagging and XFRM support with a new update entry:

Fixed a long standing edge case bug and added a new rebuild tool

  • Fix the content update date was being saved as 0, resulting in new threads displaying at the very start of the 'tag view'. May have been the cause of this report.
  • Add "Rebuild synonym tags" rebuild cache's task
Remove synonym references where the tag has been deleted, and apply rewriting of synonyms to the parent tag which may have been missed, and finally rebuild all content's tag caches. You only need to do...

DEBUG: tagess_extendedDefaultTagsSort - Callback AVForums\TagEssentials\Option\TagSort::renderExtendedSortOption is invalid (error_invalid_method).

That is showing up in options under Default Tag Sort. Any ideas?

I had this addon installed long ago. Possible that is related to this? I just installed the addon tonight and seen this. uninstalled, deleted files, reinstalled. downloaded the addon again and reinstaled it, still showing up.

The option tagess_extendedDefaultTagsSort was intended to be removed, it isn't actually used and it is just on the option page that it makes that error.

I have a corum with 93,100 is there a way with this plugin to automatically insert tags into all threads?

Yes, but not using AI (yet). It can automatically tag threads from the title match using the batch update process.
What it does is look at what existing tags are in the title and adds those.
Batch update tags using AI is coming, but can't say when.
