Simply an option to allow the system to set a random password for new accounts. Of course users can still replace it with their unsafe-one-password-fits-it-all in their account settings later, but at least we did our part to make registration easier.
This would:
- strenghten security, or at least encourage it,
- save 2 fields on the registration page.
Some would say that sending passwords in emails is unsafe, but so is using the same (often weak) password everywhere. And since it would be optional, admins can pick their best choice.
