Whenever we switch to the BB Code Editor, the cursor always goes to the beginning of the message. It would be great to fix this behavior so that the cursor would remain in the same position. Tested on Firefox, Chrome and Safari using OS X on this forum.
Looking online, none of the solutions seem pretty and are fairly hacky to get it to a certain position that you define. I'm not sure the extra JavaScript or hackiness is necessary.
In general, this is very unlikely to happen; it's not something that's attempted either. The representations are so different that trying to figure out the position is probably never going to be feasible.
