Surge of conversation spam from new members, any tools to prevent this?

Hi,

I have pretty much been spam free in the forums, but it looks like I have some real life accounts using the conversation system behind my back. Is there a setting or addon that can prevent conversations until x amount of posts have been made? Not having luck searching for this. Thanks

Yes, you can use user group promotions to achieve this.

You would set the permissions for the "Registered" user group so they have no "Start conversation" permission and then set up a User Group Promotion which promotes the user to another secondary group which has the "Start conversation" permission once the selected criteria has been met.
