Lack of interest Suggestion: Make member profiles not visible to guests by default

Not sure if I understand this properly, but I'm under the impression that member profile pages are visible to guests by default - which is a gift to spammers looking to drop a profile link.

If xenforo were to make member profiles not visible to guests by default, this would go a long way to destroy this parasitic behaviour - certainly profile spamming on xenforo forums..

You can just set profile viewing to no. That will hide the the activity stream though.

That’s not the case any more — it is just tied to the enableNewsFeed option.

But I totally agree. There’s a permission to control this and it can be set if you wish to do there’s no need to adjust the default here.
