Kirby updated Style Variation Default with a new update entry:

1.0.0 Patch 1

Due to a bad build (I probably should not release late at night, lol), version 1.0.0 contained a bad event listener definition in the XML and therefore could not be installed.

1.0.0 Patch 1 contains the correct XML.

Feature request: Default variation option for members too
I want all users (guests & members) to have dark as the default.

Hmm, how you do envision this to work?

Existing users either have an empty value (=System), default or alternate as their preference in xf_user.style_variation.
If it's an empty value we don't know if it this way because they never changed it or because they intentionally set System after testing Light / Dark.

Guests will have the configured default, when they register their current choice (which might be the admin choosen default if they did not change it) will be used as the initial value for this field.

I could add an option for batch user update, though I am not sure how much sense this would make?

This is working great; I just tested now and new members are also using the default I manually set which is dark.

Old members can adjust on their own .

Hot on the heels of 1.0.0 Patch 1 comes ... 1.0.0 Patch 2.

A recently discovered 1 character typo caused a fatal error if guest page caching was enabled; this is now fixed so guest page caching should work just fine and respect the default.

I have tested addon on 2 forums, both get lower page speed score for mobile, I recommend to check that.
native XF light style mobile 96-98 drops to 87-89

If we could also choose a default background, and a default logo, because background and logo don't present the same on either light or dark.

I am sorry, but I don't understand your question

Depending on how you designed yout style there are one or two logos (one for light and one for dark or one for both) and one or two backgrounds (one for light and one for dark or one for both).

All this Add-on does is to set a default for the variation so this is always used until the user has made an explicit choice (which might by System, Light or Dark).

So which additional things would you want this Add-on to do?

My header is exactly the same in light and dark. Just don't change it in your variation. No add-on needed.
