Style Advice Before XF 1.2 Upgrade

Just a quick question about how to proceed before upgrading (a local test environment).

The style I use is tied to parent style not activated.



If I simply export this into an install locally then I get this mess ...


I do not know how to merge the parent and child style ... is that even possible?

My questions are:

1. Should I fix the style before doing the upgrade to XF 1.2 or after?
2. Should I upgrade locally and build a whole new style which is not dependent on a parent?

What do you think?

It wasn't in 1.1. I haven't tried it yet in 1.2.

Without a merge option you need to export/import the parent and child individually and keep the same parent/child relationship after you import them.

Parent/child doesn't matter. But you need a style that is compatible with 1.2. Ideally this should be prepared before you upgrade your live forum so you can quickly import the fixed style.

Thank you both. I have the style working locally so it'll be ready when XF 1.2 Gold is ready.
