XF 2.1 Strange Spam Cleaner behaviour

I clicked on the spam link i9n a post

All boxes ticked

But I get this message:


Spam cleaner IP address check
No matching users were found.

Anyone know what is going on here?

One of the options you have checked then is:



So it's performing a check of the spammer's IP addresses to see if any other users share the same IP address.

In your case, the check is not finding any other users with the same IP address.

Sometimes, it will return a list of users who have the same IP address as the spammer. Often these will be other spam accounts.

Ah, OK.

That was checked by default.

I also just found that in spite of that message, it did actually delete the spammer and the spammers messages.

really means

Spam cleaner IP address check
No additional matching users were found.

@Chris D maybe that default phrase could be clarified?

Yes I really thought that

a) this was in regard to the user I was spam cleaning
b) I also thought as this appears to be a sort of error message, that it hadn't actually done anything.

So a bit misleading (for people like me!)
