XF 2.2 Storing location for attachments

Can you tell me where, in the directory structure, are attachments stored please?

check the attachment url. look for the number like 243884 for the attachment in your post. that would match the number in the attachment file name. attachments on server are stored in folders. so 421 would be in folder named 4 iirc.

The file I am looking for is an “orphan“ so I don’t have a url for it, only its original file name.

Why don't you use the attachment browser? All uploaded attachments including the file name are uploaded here, can be filtered and if necessary downloaded.

ACP > Content > Attachments
