XF 2.1 Sticky Alerts?

I searched for "sticky alert" on here and google but didn't see anything.

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a way to make alerts sent to members through the admin panel "sticky" (meaning it sits at the top until either administration dismisses it through the admin panel or a user clicks a dismiss button?

I am aware notices are useful for this kind of thing, but some members of ours have requested this for very specific, important forum events and feel it would help them more than notices.

That would require custom development.

If it's for events you should look into the calendar add-on. Then you are not bootstrapping a function for events.

That, or use Notices and make sure they are non-dismissable. And remove them when the event is over.
