XF 1.5 SSL issues (too many redirects, https urls not being generated, etc

You generally shouldn't need to set this, only reason I can think of for that is if you're using CloudFlare SSL with "Flexible" selected which only encrypts traffic between the client and CloudFlare, but not between CloudFlare and your server. If you're having the issue on bladeforums.com I just had a look and it looks like it's generating the base tag correctly when you view the https version: <base href="[URL]https://www.bladeforums.com/[/URL]" />

So it's definitely detecting the ssl correctly, you'll want to edit your board URL in Options -> Basic Board Information to generate the correct URLs for emails. What were you putting in your .htaccess to handle the redirects? If it was infinitely redirecting there may be a problem with that

Jake, until we put that in the config file the base href wasn't generating https at all
