Writing 3 reviews at once here

1.) Decided to move away from vBulletin -> XenForo, and wow the difference is really something else. Everything is so clean and user friendly. Really modern and the admin panel is just how you always wanted it but never was. You can go messing with code if you want but 95% of forum owners don't need to if they're running XF2 out of the box. It's finally enjoyable to be an admin.

2.) Whilst trying to move we ran across some problems on the hosts end (permissions and caching issues) which slowly turned into a nightmare. I'm a former WiredTree customer (that got bought by LiquidWeb). LiquidWeb have an instant chat feature which replies super quick, tells you to update your ticket then leaves you for a day, eventually you get some generic reply. They really don't want to give out support, the replies you get are just half arsed and the delays between tickets turned a half day job into several days of waiting. Avoid them.

3.) Jon aka Slavik, gets alot of business on here for several reasons. He's very reasonably priced, competent at what he does, has good manners and quick to solve any issues. I don't really know what anyone could expect more from him... wash your car? He's good, won't delete a database on you and will stay in touch. I'm sure you could get a migration job done $30 cheaper but who the hell would risk their entire board over it. Leave it to a pro. All my data was in tact, permissions and everything 100% and he stayed with me even when my host was being deliberately difficult.

Paid him $1k deposit early this week to do testing and decide how to move further. We have quite large vB board to migrate into XF using incremental method as he suggested.

I acquire his service for migration all data including several our add ons. That's also includes integration of vB add on (as he recommended) into suitable add ons offered in this community, or into custom add ons.

I will update here reviews during the work process or when the work ended.

Ok, we just change from vbulletin 3.8x -heavy modded/125.000 members/300.000 threads/nearly 3 Million post/ i don´t know how much images for this is a photo forum since 15 years- to XF 2.1 with Jon! And he did a perfect job anyway! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

When did you project started? Possible to share how much you spend over this migration?

It lasted at least 2 days. Our project startet 2004 and we changed to vbulletin 2005 or 2006. As one of the biggest photocommunity in Europe we collectet a lot of pictures starting with photopost, photopost gallery, imagehosting and the vbulletin album. Please ask Jon about the price for this migration.

Slavik recently helped us move a forum with around 6 million posts and over 500k members from VB 4.X to XF 2.1.
As far as i'm aware, the forum had been on vbulletin since the early 2000s.

Slavik was able to accomodate a slightly non standard migration process (as we were redoing a whole website into XF) and was always able to offer us advice and answer any questions we had.

The migration went perfectly and we are really happy with XF 2.1. The site is noticeably much faster, CPU load is down, we can see suspicious/spammy requests in ReCaptcha are almost completely gone, the native mobile support and modern features are great and are clearing mobile usability errors we had in the Google Webmaster tools, and the members like XF! I wish we'd made the move sooner, and can definitely recommend XF 2.1 and Slavik's migration service to anyone running a VB 3/4 big board.

Hey all!

Due to a number of large projects ongoing which require extensive and extremely large addons to be created for them, for the near term I am unable to take on any projects which have extensive custom functionality.

Generally this will wont apply to most sites, however with many people being stuck inside the interest in people upgrading their websites seems to be increasing. Common addons (likes, itrader, vbseo etc etc etc) from vbulletin dot org wont be effected by this, so feel free to send your requirements along.

I had a persistent issue with ultra high CPU load as detailed here. @Slavik offered to help. Within less than an hour the issue was resolved and CPU load was dramatically reduced. Site is running very fast now. Saved me tons of money on upgrades etc. Thanks so much.

I had a heck of an issue where I came into a company and the forums were down due a series of unfortunate incidents. Nobody could login, errors being thrown everywhere and upset customers abound.

Slavik was able to not only fix the errors and allow us to login again, but they also upgraded the board to the latest version.
