Spamming Xenforo

Same here, I just apply the ban, and then apply the discouragement features offered by xenForo software. IP Discourage and IP Ban, that'll keep the spammers in a hell loop.

Then, after a while, I start deleting their accounts.

We were attacked a few times by porn posts all over the place from a user on another site that had a grudge against me.

After I disabled signatures and used @tenants TAC addon that made it so that noobs can't post links unless they meet certain requirements, I noticed that I stopped getting human spam.

I second this. They still register from time to time but I see several error message logs showing their futile attempts to spam. Instead of creating 3 threads or waiting a few days, they just leave.

Right now what i do is ban them and delete all their posts. I ban even if i see a forum profile link to some crap. But i hold the name so they don't use it again.

That might stop a couple..... Most registered on my sites are random names & number combinations. All male & range in age from 26-40. They just create new accounts & TRY to spam.

Why are most spammers male and in that age range, anyway? o.o

Then, apply the ban on him, and apply the discouragement tools. Eventually, he'll stop. Right now, you are wide open to him.

Most spammers in my site are female, always wondered why. lol.

I can make the assumption that Male is the first "valid" choice on most of our radials & the age must be above 18. I assume anything above that seems more "natural". Then again, I am not out trying to make a quick buck spamming sites with content to see what sticks...

I've had a bit of an onslaught of spammers from Pakistan. It's been happening for a while now, but nothing as bad as the last few days. About 90% of them seem to originate from Pakistan!

Our Reports area is looking a bit of a mess - thankfully, our community are very vigilant against this kind of stuff:

I've enacted a country-wide ban for China and Pakistan, where much of the spam seems to originate from, but they're still coming through. Maybe I haven't configured it correctly, or maybe CloudFlare is complicating the issue for me.

Report them if you see the spam bots. Just be polite when you report them.
Have had people swear at me when spammers have decided to register on my own forum.
I found that blocking their email addresses has worked because they use all the disposable ones they can find.
I put it as a rule on my forum that whilst it's ok for people to join up they must join up with their ISP email address. Most ISP's allow you to have 5 email addresses.

I really like that they just give up and don't come back. Plus no one misses signatures since I let them post their links through postbit icons (for some reason human spammers never take the time to look around and realize they could add their links that way).
