No, it's not quite the same. The bug you reported is inserting a new line between every single of pasted text.

I've tested this again and the issue only happens when cutting text from the text editor and pasting it back in again. It doesn't happen when pasting in text from another source.

Was it rolled out? I don't have it in Chrome, but I have that in FF.
