soundcloud is a great system for posting your music and has an amazing player that can be embedded to facebook, tweeter, wordpress, etc.

The embed code for Wordpress looks like this:
    [soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/6928510" params="show_comments=false&auto_play=false&color=ff7700" width="100%" height="81" ]

    it is basically a bbcode

I've been working on this but I've hit a road block with XenForo autolinking URLs.

I've actually completed and tested this, it will be part of the UrlRewriter add on within 24 hours (early tomorrow morning).

That's a horribly hacky way to do this.

Zero effort from users and does nothing that the BbCode conversion that Sound Cloud made available did.

You also have to assume that in all cases users will want their links to be automatically parsed.

buro9 did a good job in getting AME features ported over to XenForo...

Though I too tend to agree that AME features are overrated. We used to use them on my forums, until threads started having 50 flash objects embedded on each page and then people's computers would crash because flash is ass, and it created massive memory leaks...

I can up with my own video embedding solution that doesn't require flash objects: (click the play button)
