Social Groups for XenForo [Paid] [Deleted]

Is this add-on still being developed?

And does it work on this latest version of Xenforo?

I'm still waiting (and waiting) to get some resolution to my issue? Can you at least just show me how to downgrade (just using an older version of the xml prevents this)? I seriously regret upgrading at this point and would just like to go back 'keeping' the groups I've already created and populated please...

Downgrading is extremely annoying, as you would need to have a backup of your previous database (there are usually column changes). I have been wrapping up 1.6 for public release, I hope to have it out soon. It would include the groups under the username as a bug fix.

Since XenForo hasn't had a new version in a year, yes, it works in the latest version of XenForo :)
I'll do a maintenance update once the XF guys release a 1.2 version, if needed.

I am working on 1.6, it has some interesting functionality. It is used in some forums for "Role Playing", so we ended up including a feature that enables members to have a nickname .. only for that group. Gives the user the impression of being anonymous on the group. I am trying to wrap up making sure that works correctly and a couple bug fixes before I release this updated.

I guess I need to register, says I don't have permission
Sorry, didn't even think of that. Guests can view groups now, would you mind having a look?

EDIT: Also, I can't seem to get groups to display under/next (or wherever) to the user title. I've set it so that they are enabled, with a maximum of 3.

I'm not really interested in a feature like that, more in things like:
- a lot of options for authorization. More open and less open and hidden groups. Things like that.
- a group-photo-gallery
- a group-video-gallery
- events and calendar for a group

Really: small mini-sites for the groups.

Are you working of things like that? Or is it (a lot) already possible?

The avatar under the user title is a known bug, it will be fixed in the next release

Photo gallery is interesting. Video gallery unless youtube linked would probably kill the system really fast.
Events and calendar is probably the next must-have feature, though one member here was rather integrating it with the other Calendar Add-On

Rigel Kentaurus updated Social Groups for XenForo with a new update entry:

Group-specific avatar and nickname

New Features
  • People can now select a group-only avatar and nickname. Their participation on that group's thread will show that particular avatar and name
Bug Fixes
  • The groups were not showing below the avatar in the postbit
  • Small corrections to the height of the headers in the group list
  • Added the avatar on the thread list
  • Altered the styling of the posts
  • Editing a post now jumps you directly to...

Well, I'm GLAD TO NOW SAY that the icons under the avatars are finally showing! ;-) Only problem is that I had to go back and personally re-select the groups I'm already in and I'll have to tell the community members to do the same...but it's working again! Thanks Rigel :D
Sorry about that, and thanks for waiting for the update, I had to wrap it up before distributing it.

Thanks Dinh. I have been doing a big facelift on groups, it was much needed.
It will also leave the foundation for me to add more features. I would feel bad adding more features without tidying up the code and style a little.

I still owe, as promised, attachments. I was working this weekend on attachments and integrating the reporting functionality, but I decided to wrap the version up, do a release, and I'll do a release of the rest in one or two weeks. My admins are also asking for a couple of interesting features, so you will see some nice additions to the groups addon very soon.

I could move the group controls to a little more hidden place. Like an engine that pops up. I agree that encouraging members to leave is not a good idea. That button actually used to be next to the group title. That turned out to be not a good idea.

I haven't considered liking a group. That shouldn't be that hard. I'll see where I can fit it into the list of suggestions :)

Bring this up, sorry. But they are great features!
