Duplicate Smilies showing improperly when browser view is zoomed in

I've been struggling with this thinking it was an addon and it turns out its the smiley image. this is the normal view on my monitor in 100% zoom on chrome for mac:



and this is with the view at 125%



its the same in the acp as well. here it is at 100%:



and here it is at 125% again:



This definitely did not happen with XF1 as I have a large monitor and keep my browsers at 125% or greater for every site to make it easier to read.

and in safari as well? firefox is not exhibiting the issue for what its worth.
