XF 2.1 Smilies background

Seeking guidance, since I'm not sure if this is a lazyload issue, CSP, some kind of forwarding issue or what. Some of my smilies have a colored background when they should be transparent... others, with identical settings and file extensions (e.g., .gif) do not. Examples:





These all used to be transparent... the first and last ones have black and green colored backgrounds, respectively. I inspected the css and templates inline but couldn't find anything obvious or anything that makes the first and last ones any different from the middle two. Thoughts?

It might be related to the php image processor being used, altough the issue you're facing is new to me.
