Simple Questions / Simple Answers for a Laymen

Hello all, I own a pretty good sized performance boating forum. Before I get started with my questions please understand I am not the IT guy for my forum, so my questions are going to be really simple, and I hope to have them answered in english (not tech) as well.

I have already purchased xenforo. But now I have run into a few things that I need answers too...

I was just told by my IT guy that Xenforo doesn't have CMS like VB4? So what happens to my front page? All of the countless articles / videos etc.. that we have made? What are people using for CMS now?

Second Question.. I was told that I would actually have to take my forum offline during the Import? Ours is a very competitive deal, and we spent a lot of time and $$ to gain momentum and get to be # 1. I am really concerned that taking the forum down for 4 days, will kill that momentum and get my competitors the leg up they need to get their programs going.. Is there any way around this?

I'm sure I'll have plenty of more questions as time goes on, but those are the main two before we get strated.

We made a vBCMS to Wordpress importer.

You will need to associate your forum user name with your license in order to post in the customer forums and obtain support.

Ok, let me see if my IT guy can help me out with the user id association.. I do have the ID #? But I'm not sure what he set the password too as he is toying with xenforo in a "test" deal right now..
