XF 1.4 Session table crashed during backup

Last night I had an automatic backup that occurs when the forum is at it's lowest activity. Ever since I installed xenforo these backups have been happening at the same time, but last night it crashed my session table and the forum was down for a couple of hours. Is there anything I can do to avoid having the session table crash while backups are happening?

It's more than likely a one off and could be related to any number of things.
I also take a daily backup (as do many others) and have never had a session table crash.

If it keeps occurring then you might want to let your host know about it.
