Check your ACP if it meets all requirements. You may have to add the missing extentions.
If you are on sharedhosting, you can usually enable this in the control panel. Or else you may have to install it yourself, depending on the system you use.

You’re not wrong but I had no clue it works like that.

You may select from PHP Selector. If you have terminal access you can Install by yourself.

Each PHP build is different - modules and extensions which are enabled on one, may not be enabled on another.

When switching version, servers, OS, etc. it is necessary to ensure that the requirements are met.
You can use a phpinfo file for that, and to some extent the XF check script: https://xenforo.com/purchase/requirements-zip

@Chris D has just updated the XF check script, so it will also now also flag any issues related to push notifications and one click upgrades/installs.
