XF 2.2 Sending a direct message to all users WITHOUT an email notification

Many users have turned on email notifications when receiving a direct message, but I want to send a direct message to all users without Xenforo sending them an email notification, even if they have this option turned on in their profile. The reason is that my email provider really dislikes the mass mail because my forum has so many users. They think it is spam.

Is it possible to do this?

If members have opted to receive emails for conversations then you can't prevent that without disabling emails completely via config.php.

Could I disable emails via config, send the message, and then enable it again in config after it is sent?

That might just work.

Yes that should work.

Just double check the xf_mail_queue table before enabling mails again.
