A common seach on our vintage car forum will be the type of car. 25hp works fine, but 23.8 doesn't even though it's the same length. I did some tests. 7777.7 works, but 777.7 doesn't.

But 77.7 works on this forum so I must have a setting wrong somewhere?

The forum uses elasticsearch and the Enhanced Search add-on, not MySQL search.

A period isn't included in the search which is why you are hitting the minimum character count.
That can be changed in the XF ACP and will also need to be adjusted on the server (if your host is willing and able to do so).
