XF 2.3 Searching for Deceased Members

Cannot search for old posts made by deceased members. Some of our old friends who are no longer with us wrote some great machining articles and projects. We can't seem to locate them on the forum or by using the member search. I can find them from the admin panel no problem but that doesn't help the normal member. Any ideas?

EDIT: clarified the problem in italics/bold.

When forum members die, we place them in a deceased usergroup, that gives them a purple banner in their post bit. But searching for their content is just the same as when they were alive.

Could this have something to do with inactive members not working as active members, tagging and maybe search not picking them up.

It's a setting in the ACP that stops members being found if they haven't posted for a year. I changed it and now members who haven't been active for years can still be found. Note that their account is still active, they just haven't logged on for years. It won't find inactive accounts, such as banned or disabled ones, by design.

I've forgotten what that setting is however, so @Chris D could you please remind us? :)

The search for that member works fine.

I don't quite understand this, because I can search on my forum for members who haven't logged in for 15 years. banned members included. And I don't think I've changed any settings

Well, that's interesting. I definitely remember tweaking something to make it work.

Perhaps you didn't have to adjust anything since there was no limit in XF 1.x maybe and that setting just carried over with successive upgrades?

I'm racking my brain to remember what this setting was, but alas, nothing.
