XF 1.4 Search results block?

Is there a way to possibly have a widget or a block that I can put on a page that when someone loads the page it will automagically load a list of the threads for a search result of a term.

Like if I have a page about a breed of dogs, for the info page for those dogs, there would be a block that would show the most recent threads with that breed of dog in the thread... etc etc..etc.. I hope this makes sense.

Specifically it sounds like you'd need custom development.

Idea off the top of my head:

If you have a page node dedicated to dogs, and a forum section dedicated to dogs you could use the widget framework to show the latest 5 posts or popular posts on the dog page node from only the forum section dedicated to dogs.
