XF 2.0 Search Member Threads vs Posts

Is it possible to search a member's threads, like we could on VB?

All I see is the option to view Posts, which takes forever sifting through to find something specific.

There is no ability to perform a search in the first post in a thread though, if that's what you mean.

Just be aware that even that option displays the threads by post order: most recently posted/replied to threads first. In other words, you can't sort them by thread creation date (which would be my preference) or by any other filter of your choosing.

Very interesting, thank you for pointing that out, I agree with you.

Can we get some feedback from Xenforo on this, is it possible to maybe search this with Enhanced Xenforo Search?

This is a great tool for our staff when investigating/managing not only trouble makers, but also researching a member's threads for learning, since we are an information/research/awareness based website.

I guess they just don't see a need for users to be able to completely separate threads from posts, since their focus always seems to be primarily on posts. So it's likely something we'll continue to have to rely on addon's for. For what you're looking for this is probably the best addon:

It goes a step further by also allowing you to see what threads a user created in particular forums.

There's also this simpler one from andyB, which just adds a "More threads by..." link near each thread a user has created, and if you click it it will give you a chronological list of threads:

I should point out, though, just in case you weren't already aware of it, that you can already sort threads by a particular user on a node-by-node basis using the "Filters" drop-down menu you'll see in each forum. Put the user name in the "Started by" field and sort by "First message" and you can get a list of threads by that user by creation date - for just that forum.
